TOKYO SAKE TASTING CLASS
Every country has their own speciality alcoholic drink that they're known for - Italy for their wine, Russia for their Vodka and Scotland for their whiskey. In Japan, sake is the go to traditional alcoholic drink. Sake is made from fermented rice, water, yeast and koji (a type of mold). Sake boasts a history of over a thousand years and there are hundreds of different types. Come and learn about Japan’s national drink and try 6 different types of sake with our local sake experts.

Short 30-minute crash course during a private customized tour.
Over the course of this 2-hour sake class you’ll take a dive deep into all things sake. Our sake sommelier will teach you the proper ways to select and drink sake with food. Sake and pairing food is very important in Japanese food culture; discover how sake can compliment many different flavours. Our sake experts will present to you 6 different craft sakes - all from small family owned breweries.

INFORMATION
AGE: The drinking age in Japan is 20. All participants must be over 20 years old to join.
LENGTH: 2-hours (or 30-minutes for the crash course which can be incorporated into our Private Customised Tours).
WHEN: Everyday.
GROUP SIZE: The minimum number of bookings needed for this class to run is 2. Small group classes take a maximum of 8 people. Private classes are available for up to 20 people.
STARTING TIME: Small group classes run at 1.30pm and 5pm, 7-days a week. Private classes can he held any time from 12 noon to 11 pm (last booking at 9 pm).
LOCATION: Inside the Izakaya Sake Bar Doron in Shinjuku (7-19-21 Nishishinjuku, Shinjuku,Tokyo). It’s roughly a 10 minute walk from Shinjuku Station’s West Exit.
DIETARY REQUIREMENTS: The 2-hour class includes light snacks. Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements in advance.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
You will be granted a full refund (excluding booking and administration charges) if you cancel your booked class more than two weeks (more than 337 hours) in advance.
You will be granted a 80% refund (excluding booking and administration charges) if you cancel between 14 days and 3 days (336 and 73 hours) in advance of your class.
You will be granted a 50% refund (excluding booking and administration charges) if you cancel between 2 days and 1 day (48 and 25 hours) in advance of your class.
There are no refunds if you cancel with 24 hours or less notice.
There are no refunds if you do not turn up for the class or if you are late for the class.
WEATHER CONDITIONS: All classes take place as scheduled (including in heavy rain) except under a Red Warning or Purple Emergency Warning issued by the Japan Meteorological Agency. For up to date information see the Japan Meteorological Agency website.
